How long does it take to start a VA business?

A question I get asked a lot from people considering joining The Creative VA School is this: How long does it take to start a VA business and go through the course?

This is such a great question and something I want to outline for you so you know exactly what you will be getting into as you start your business journey or join us in the course!

I want to mention that of course everyone’s business journey and timeline will look different. Everyone is starting at a different place, with different levels of experience. Everyone also has different amounts of time that they can commit to the program and building their business. Some people may be able to dedicate full-time hours to starting their business. Others may be working a full-time job and building their VA business on the side.

No matter your situation, starting a creative virtual assistant business is 100% possible for you. Here is an example of what a 4-week jumpstart could look like for you as you go through The Creative VA School and get your business up and running.

Creative Virtual Assistant Course - The Creative VA School

Week 1: Goal setting + Offer Creation

During your first week, you may be excited to dive right into finding clients. However, you want to use this first week to really set a solid foundation for your business. Throughout this first week, you really want to focus on setting goals for your business, so you know what you are working towards and be able to track your progress.

You also want to start taking a look at your skills and creating an offer that is going to fit your existing skill set. This is also a great time to uplevel any skills if needed. Once you have decided on your offer based on your skills, you want to determine who your ideal client is based on who needs your services the most and who you will be targeting with your marketing efforts.

Week 2: Pricing + Legal

Once you have the foundations laid out, it’s time to get into the nitty-gritty of pricing your offers. This is one of the areas most of the students inside the Masterclass struggle with. This is why I offer monthly group coaching calls to make sure everyone is able to feel confident with their pricing and keep making progress without getting stuck!

This week is also a great time to make your business official by setting things up legally. This includes choosing a name for your business and possibly setting up an LLC and business bank account. Then you will work on getting contracts and invoices in place before you begin taking clients.

Week 3: Branding + Marketing

Now that everything is set up, it’s time to get the word out about your new business! This is my favorite week because I love all things branding! This week you want to choose your branding and begin creating an online presence that is going to attract customers!

You will also be working on getting your marketing strategy created. This includes things like getting your website up and running and also beginning to create content for social media to let clients know you are open for business!

Week 4: Finding + Working with clients

Now it’s time to put everything together and start finding clients and booking them! This week you will focus on learning how to get potential clients onto a discovery call. You will also learn the skills to actually turn them into paying customers!

Then, of course, we discuss what workflows to set up so that you are able to keep these new clients happy, seeing results, and returning month after month!
